So, as you've noticed, I haven't written anything recently. The reason? My surgery went exceptionally well. How well? Here is a little timeline:
12.21- hospital admittance
12.22- Surgery
12.23- Made it to the bathroom by myself (on crutches)
12.24- walked without crutches (short distance, but still!)
12.25- discharged from hospital
12.26- went out to eat for 3 hours and was exhausted, but could walk short distances with Soo's help
12.27- rested some, wrote some blog stuff, hung out with Soo
1.01- Check up with doctor, was told I can move with no crutches when I felt up to it
1.02- Hair appointment. Went out with NO crutches, but had a BIT of trouble
1.03- bought a cane
And then I used a cane until my doctor's appointment at the end of January. I felt good enough that I even went up to Seoul for Kpop stuff!
So, instead of spending my time writing blogs and lazing around, I spent it out and about and doing things when I thought I'd be in bed for at least a month. Of course, during the week I spent a LOT of the time sleeping for the first two weeks because school kinda kicked my butt, but things smoothed out in the end.
February was a BIT stressful for me for 2 reasons-
1. I went and spent Seollal with my boyfriend and his family and
2. I found out I'm moving to another apartment on Feb 28th.
But I'm going to go ahead and do a blog post specifically for both of those things.
AND- Soo and I have decided to make a blog specifically about our relationship. I don't mean just being lovey dovey and stuff, though we will be sharing a lot about the adventures we go on. We will also spend time talking about the differences and problems we encounter as an interracial-intercultural couple, both in English and Korean. I know it might seem a little silly to some people, but we thought it might be interesting to document the differences and hardships we experience as well as the cultural things we experience such as Seollal, Thanksgiving, Fourth of July, Chuseok, etc. Soo actually wants to do videos also (he even made us a youtube channel, lol), but I'm a little self conscious about that at the moment >< so... We'll see. If you don't mind though, I'd love to hear people's opinions about our idea for a blog and Youtube channel? So, feel free to comment or message me and let me know! And expect an update on the Seollal weekend, including many pictures, soon!
